Couple more sketches from Imaginatomy

Just a couple of more sketches from Imaginatomy.  I really did do a lot of work in my other classes, I just haven't scanned them in yet.  Soon though...thanks for looking.

Just a few more images...

Here are just a few more images from one of my classes.  I trying to be a bit more selective in what work I post here.  So while there are many more drawings from the class, these are the ones I considered worthy of posting.  I can't wait to paint a lot of these over break.  Two more finals to finish and I can relax!  Thanks for looking!

A Couple of Images from Imaginatomy

My 4th term is almost done! 2 weeks to go and it seems so far away.  I really don't have time to post a bunch of stuff so here are a few images from a class I'm taking called Imaginatomy.  This class is based around learning human anatomy and creating your own creature.  So here are a couple of snap shots of the diorama and a sketch I did for part of the project.  The sketch is of the skull of a black rhino and I did it so I could show a sense of scale between my fictional creature and an animal we all know of.  The sketches fit into the final presentation and I will be posting pictures of it as soon as possible.  Thanks for looking!

New Layout

Here's a new layout for one of my classes.  It's still rough and I'm going to make a few changes, but it's almost done!  The prompt behind this assignment was to draw a boat that two kids have taken and made into a make-shift pirate ship.

Just a Quick Post

This term is flying by and I've done so much work, but haven't had time to scan or post anything.  So here's just a little from a class taught by Richard Keyes.  I'm really loving the class and the projects.  These are film studies done really quick by pausing the movie and quickly painting it's color/composition.  Initially I was spending 15 min on them, but cut it down to 7-8 min near the end.  Thanks for looking and I promise to post more soon.

Cafe Sketches

So I really like the idea of sketching people in cafes and restaurants on napkins.  Problem is that the napkins can be frustrating to draw on.  So back to the sketchbook I went.  These were done on a napkin and then I went home and did them digitally.  Just quick and fun.  My 4th term has been underway and I have been too busy to post anything new.  I promise to post more soon.  I am taking some really amazing classes this term and the instructors are all great.  So I am really excited to see how much I learn this term!

Creatures...

Just a sketchbook page I did the other day.  I have a class this next term that requires us to create fictional animals based off existing anatomy of real animals.  Should be fun!

Napkins?

So I made a deal with myself that every time I go out to eat I'll do a little sketch on a napkin on the restaurant that I'm at.  This is my first and I used a really crappy pen.  So from now on I'll come more prepared.  The dog was actually sitting in a minivan across the street from the cafe while the owner was inside.

Summer Term - Sketching for Illustration

These are from Bob Kato's Sketching for Illustration class.  Easily one of the best classes I've had at Art Center.  It was a lot of work, but well worth it.  I only included a few from the class, one of which is a master copy of a Sargent painting.

Summer term - Inventive Drawing

I'm finally posting some work from the summer term.  Here are a few from a class taught by Will Weston called Inventive Drawing.
