100 Heads
Here is a picture of a project from my Heads and Hands course in which we had to copy 3 master artist's portraits and another portrait of ourselves in their style. It was a lot of work but, I really learned a lot from it.

Inventive Sketch
This sketch is from my drawing and comp class with Will Weston! Great teacher. The idea here being that the model takes a series of 3 to 7 min poses and we compose all of them together to make compostion with a story. Idea here is that there are a bunch of scholars chatting. The one in the far back facing us is like; "what was the?". Term is almost done so I'll post more in the aftermath!

Couple of Life Drawings
Here are a couple of life drawings from my comp class. These were really short poses so nothing really finished but, they are the few that I like from the session.

UFMLO
UFMLO (Unidentified Flying Mouse Like Object)
3 point perspective piece for class. Please excuse the horrible scan. I really liked this piece and hope to do a final version in color. I've posted the rough thumbnail here to to show how much the piece changed. I had originally wanted the mice on a telephone pole but, due to their location in the comp it didn't really make sense. So I thought, why not a weather vane?

Perspective Class
I'm having fun with my perspective class. We had to draw a couple of thumbnails in class then use one to create a final draft. The 2 thumbnails/sketches at the bottom were really quick. the larger sketch in the middle is the final version. I am going to come back to this one and work on it some more but, I think this is a good start. Still more homework to do so see you later for now!

Koala Head Study
Since it's official I'm going to Art Center, I figured I'd start working on some animal sketches. I started quick sketching a koala from a reference photo and decided it would be neat to explore the construction/planes of it's head. Then that got me to thinking about different ways to characterize these planes or shapes. One of my main goals while attending Art Center is to broaden my skill set and break out "my comfort zone". While this here is just a quick sketch I hope to do a few more pages with really technical sketches and breakdowns of the koala's anatomy. Then take those sketches and use them to create a really unique character.

Going Back to School
Just like the title states I'm going back to school! That is, if I'm accepted. I'm waiting to hear back from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena CA. I do not like the waiting game, lol. I've always wanted to attend this school, it would be a dream come true! Wish me luck!
